Wastewater Treatment

Osceola’s Wastewater treatment facility, consist of a 4 cell, 68 acre lagoon with a design flow of 2.5 million gallons a day. Wastewater entering the lagoon goes through a natural purification process with no added chemicals and no mechanical equipment involved. The treated water exits two to four months after entering the lagoon via a pumping station. Continual testing on the effluent water insures that standards of purification are met before being discharged into the Mississippi River.
